Kenergy seeks to bring positive changes in the communities that neighbour our projects by working openly to ensure sensitive design and tangible local benefits. Our role is to ensure that when a development is permitted; all the opportunities for local benefits have been fully explored.

That is why Kenergy is there to guide the process and eventually propose a combination of the following solutions:

  • Local contracting and associated local employment during construction and operation
  • Community funds receiving payments for the benefit of local residents
  • Benefits in kind where Kenergy directly provides or pays for local community facility improvements, environmental improvements, visitor facilities, school and educational support etc.

There are also many indirect benefits; the local community have access to improved local transportation and electrical infrastructures, improving electricity supply and potentially reducing power cuts, diminishing dependency on volatile imported fuel therefore improving health and education as well as the development of enterprises for the local area, ultimately enhancing livelihoods.
